Brands FAQ

Which matcha brands are best?

It depends on use and budget, and we won't crown one. For serious drinking, heritage and specialty single-origin houses (Marukyu Koyamaen, Ippodo, Kettl, Ooika, Horii Shichimeien) lead — but most aren't on Amazon. For organic with verifiable certification, Encha and Aprika Life hold both USDA and JAS. For value and availability, Jade Leaf, Naoki and ITO EN. See each brand's page for honest pros and cons.

Which matcha brands are sold on Amazon?

Brands genuinely sold on Amazon include Jade Leaf, Encha, Naoki, an official Ippodo store, Aprika Life, MatchaBar, Golde and ITO EN. Marukyu Koyamaen, Horii Shichimeien, Ooika, Kettl, Mizuba, Rocky's and Cuzen are bought direct (or via specialty resellers), not through an official Amazon store.

Is 'Sayaka' a matcha brand?

No — 'Sayaka' is one of Ippodo's matcha blends, not a separate brand. If you see it listed as its own brand, that's a mistake.
